Welcome
My name is José David Beltrán Lizarazo. I am Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen’s University under the direction of Prof. Maria Teresa Chiri. I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics at The University of Iowa in April 2026 under the direction of Prof. Tong Li. I’m mainly interested in hyperbolic systems of conservation laws and applications in traffic flow and models arising in biology.
I am originally from Bogotá-Colombia. I completed a MSc in Mathematics at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá under the supervision of Prof. Leonardo Rendón Arbelaez. I did my undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the “Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas” in Bogotá, under the mentorship of Prof. Arturo Sanjuán Cuellar.
