Welcome
My name is José David Beltrán Lizarazo. I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics at The University of Iowa in April 2026 under the direction of Professor Tong Li. I’m mainly interested in partial differential equations, more precisely hyperbolic systems of conservation laws.
Starting July 2026, I will join the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen’s University as a Coleman Postdoctoral Fellow under the direction of Professor Maria Teresa Chiri.
I am originally from Bogotá-Colombia. I completed a MSc in Mathematics at the National University of Colombia, Bogotá under the supervision of Prof. Leonardo Rendón Arbelaez. I did my undergraduate studies in Mathematics at the “Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas” in Bogotá, under the mentorship of Professor Arturo Sanjuán Cuellar.
